Specs:

2 Piece for ease of finishing and painting (The knob screws off the baseplate/shell – when it is screwed together there is no way to tell it is 2 pieces)

122 gram total weight per port

2 hrs 42 min total run time on Haas VF5

0.063″ radius in the corners of the octagon shell

0.016″ radius in the corners of the backplate openings

backplate is 0.080″ thick to keep some kid from kicking it in

backplate openings are milling machine cut for consistency and burs are machine removed (laser cutting will never give as nice a finish in aluminum as machining)

advantages of 2 piece design over 3 piece is less weight, tight rear corner (no gap), and shorter depth dimension (COM-8 frames have a lower riser rod that conflicts with Octagon Ports

advantage of 3 piece design over 2 piece design is no masking of rear panel required when painting.
